In this new period, 2026-2028, the X4HPC R&D&I Network for Supercomputing is expanding its number of member research institutions, from 8 in the previous period to the current 12.

This expansion welcomes a total of four new members, who will actively participate in the defined activities. Specifically, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) joins the Network, participating with three research groups: MicEIA, Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience, and Theory and Simulation.

Another institution joining is the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), which will participate in X4HPC activities with two research groups: CROMAI and CITCEA. We also welcome Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), which has four research groups: BCN MedTech, Biophysics in Cell Biology, Translational Synthetic Biology, and Web Science and Social Computing.

Finally, the fourth institution to join the X4HPC network is IBEC, the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, with its Spatial Biotechnology research group.

The other member institutions of the X4HPC network are CIMNE, IRB Barcelona, UAB, Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, CNM-CSIC, Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute, UB, and BSC.
