On November 6th, from 10 am to 12 pm, the Startups2Funding activity will take place, where one-on-one meetings will be held between investors and startups.

Steps to sign up:

1. Register on the platform
Fill out the form you’ll find here.

2. Validate your profile
You will receive an email in your inbox. Just validate it.

3. Request a meeting
Once your profile is validated, you’ll have access to the list of available investors. Select and request a meeting. The investor will need to accept your meeting request (it’s not immediate).

We are glad to announce that the BSC will be present, once again, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and 4 Years From Now (4YFN) for the 2025 edition that will take place on March 3rd – 6th, Barcelona. This time, the BSC will have its own 100 m2 stand at the 4YFN with space enough for our spin offs. Each will have their own space within the perimeter of the BSC stand. To give you more flexibility, this time you will have the possibility to have your pod spin off at different rates depending on the number of days you choose:

• 4-day pod for 645€

• 2-day pod for 500€

Whichever option you choose, it will include the following things:

• A minimum of 2 passes per spin off

• Access to our own AGORA zone for presentations

• Access to our own private meetings zone

Today, May 2, the deadline to submit applications for “Indústria del Coneixement” Program 2024 opens.

📆 Period from 05/02/2024 to 05/29/2024

The “Indústria del Coneixement” Program, promoted by the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, aims to boost an economy based on knowledge by incentivizing the transfer of research results from various knowledge generation centers within the Catalan system of science and innovation.

This program provides for three types of grants:

• Modality A. Llavor:(6 months / €20,000) funding for innovative projects with potential for incorporation into the productive sector.
• Modality B. Producte: (<18 months / <€150,000) grants aimed at obtaining prototypes and valorizing and transferring research results generated by research teams in Catalonia.
• Modality C. Innovadors: (<18 months / €84,000) grants for valorization and knowledge transfer projects developed by innovators during stays in research and innovation entities in Catalonia. 

The X4HPC Network offers strategic IP focused studies developed by expert suppliers in the field for all members of the network (such as for example expert assessment in open-source software protection and open hardware protection).

The call for applications is open from January 23th to May 15th 2024 (both included).

The X4HPC Network has opened a new call for Valorisation and spinoff creation support 2024 developed by expert suppliers in the field, for all members of the network. The call offers optional support at no cost to research groups aiming to transfer their technologies or launch their spinoffs and can cover studies such as: market studies, industrialisation plans, legal assessment, mentoring, business plans or public financing plans.

The application for the call is open from January 16th to May 15th 2024 (both included).

The X4HPC Network for Supercomputing in Catalonia opens a call for groups that want to become members of this AGAUR financed Network.

The call is open to research groups that work with HPC tools and from the 8 entities that are already part of the X4HPC Network.

To apply for X4HPC membership, interested groups are invited to fill out the registration form and send it to x4hpc@bsc.es

The application deadline is March 26th. The candidacy will be evaluated at the next X4HPC General Assembly.(Date to be defined)

This year ENAIRE, the leading company in Spain in air navigation management, is once again promoting its contest focused on the technological challenges of air traffic management. I believe you might be interested in participating.

The best solution will receive a prize of 60,000 euros to advance their research

The X4HPC R&D&I Network for Supercomputing in Catalonia opens a call for groups that want to become members of this AGAUR financed Network.

The call is open to research groups that work with HPC tools and from the 8 entities that are already part of the X4HPC Network -List: Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Vall Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona (IRB), Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), Centro Nacional de Microelectrónica (CNM-CSIC), International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE).

By becoming a member of the X4HPC, groups can access to:

• Expert advice in all the different phases of reaching the market (such as open source and open hardware protection assessment, patentability studies, market studies, regulatory roadmaps, business plans, mentorships, for example)

• Participation in HPC-focused acceleration / entrepreneurship programs (with access to mentors, spinoffs, deep tech entrepreneurs, venture builders, accelerators and deeptech investors)

• Promotion and visibility of HPC projects and tools through participation in relevant forums and events.

• A network of experts and leading professionals in the field of HPC.

• Collaboration opportunities with other members in research, development and technological transfer of HPC technologies.

• Participation in workshops, seminars and conferences and access to knowledge, experiences and updates on the latest trends in the HPC field.
