The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU)  has announced open calls for accessing AI Factories, designed to empower European AI startups, industry, and scientific communities with cutting-edge supercomputing resources. AI Factories provide tailored computational power and expert support to drive the development of large-scale AI models, foster innovation, and build expertise in artificial intelligence across the EU.

Access Modes for AI Factories

AI Factories offer flexible access modes to meet diverse needs, whether you’re an AI startup, an industry player, or a research institution. Below are the available tracks:

AI for Industrial Innovation

This track supports AI-driven innovation for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), startups, and other industrial applications. It includes three access modes:

  • Playground Access: Ideal for entry-level users, offering limited resources to explore AI development.

  • Fast Lane Access: Designed for users familiar with High-Performance Computing (HPC), providing up to 50,000 GPU hours.

  • Large Scale Access: Tailored for advanced AI models and applications requiring more than 50,000 GPU hours.

Eligibility: Free for AI SMEs and startups for innovation purposes. Other industrial users can access resources on a pay-per-use basis.

AI for Science and Collaborative Projects

This access mode supports scientific research and collaborative projects, focusing on ethical AI, Machine Learning, and cutting-edge foundation models, including Large Language Models and Generative AI. It is ideal for research workflows that integrate AI technologies.

Eligibility: Free for eligible public and private users, primarily for publicly funded research, as well as industrial applications within collaborative projects funded by Horizon Europe or the Digital Europe Programme.
